Ferrari Challenge at MIA - Volunteers
Miami International Autodrome (MIA)About this event
Ferrari Challenge at Miami International Autodrome (MIA) - May 14-18, 2025.
Come on out and help Florida Region staff the first race weekend to be held on MIA's new short course! Ferrari Challenge always provides excitement.
We need Pit/Paddock Marshals for all five days. These marshals will manage traffic flow primarily getting race cars from their paddock areas onto the track and then off the track back to their paddock areas. On Saturday and Sunday, these marshals may be asked to assist IMSA officials as they are getting the cars gridded for their races. We need five Pit/Paddock Marshals who can commit to working all five days and an additional five who can commit to working Friday-Sunday.
We need F&C marshals for Saturday and Sunday only (during the week there will just be lapping and that will be handled by the circuit's camera system and remotely controlled lights). There will be 2 F&C marshals at each of 17 posts who will have flags, light panel controllers and radios.
We need intervention marshals for Saturday and Sunday only, who will be spread around the circuit (just one at each of 15 positions) and will provide assistance to the track's crews in cleaning up incidents and, in the unlikely event of a fire that is nearby to the marshal, operating an extinguisher to control/combat the fire (of course only upon the direction of Race Control).
All F&C and intervention marshals must have an SCCA F&C license and if your license level is "Regional", it must be a Certified Regional F&C license.
We need 4 support marshals for Saturday and Sunday only, who will (1) drive three vans that are being provided by the track to transport marshals to and from their posts, and (2) provide support as needed during the days including food, water and ice distribution.
Pit/Paddock marshals working during the week will receive an expense stipend of $150/day for the weekdays. All marshals working on Saturday and Sunday will receive an expense stipend of $100/day.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Please note that the days are long and the track has said they will provide some extra snack items to get you through the day, but you should plan on bringing whatever items are your favorites. All stations will have coolers with water and ice; if you want to bring some other beverages, please only bring small coolers since there won't be lots of room on the transport vans. We expect that there will be the same folding chairs that the track puts out for the marshals at F1, but if you have something more comfortable that you want to bring, again it shouldn't be too bulky to take on the vans.
We have arranged group rate pricing at two hotels that are 20 minutes from the track: the Hilton Garden Inn, Fort Lauderdale SW/Miramar (14501 Hotel Road, Miramar, FL), and the Home2 Suites by Hilton Miramar/Fort Lauderdale (2800 SW 149th Ave., Miramar, FL). Both of these are right off I-75 at the Miramar Parkway exit.
The Home2 Suites has rooms with one king bed plus sofabed, the rates are $149+tax per night for Friday and Saturday nights and $129 for Sunday night (non-prepaid, can cancel up to two days before arrival). A discounted rate may be available for earlier in the week.
The Hilton Garden Inn also has rooms with one king bed plus sofabed, the rates are $159+tax per night for a fully-prepaid non-refundable reservation or $169+tax per night for a non-prepaid reservation that can be cancelled up to three days before arrival. These rates are available for Tuesday through Sunday nights.
Details on how to book each hotel will be provided with your confirmation of registration.
