Be sure to check out Timetrials.scca.com for the most up to date rules and tech inspection paperwork. Save time in the tech line by having your paperwork completed prior to the event! SCCA uses a "rolling self tech". What that means is that you do your own tech for your own car and we eyeball it for any glaring maintenance issues and to be sure it meets safety requirements. Individual car inspections are not done unless the Chief of Tech feels there is a need based on his judgment. Your signed sheet (by you or a mechanic of your choice) IS your tech. Please be certain your car is 'track ready' prior to presenting to rolling tech.

When you arrive at the track (Gate 3), park or pull over at the very first registration building on your left and get checked in and get a wristband from our awesome SCCA volunteers for the event. After you’ve checked in at Registration, go to the next building and stop to show Mid-Ohio your track waiver to get yet ANOTHER wristband, then drive on over to the tech area to receive your tech sticker and transponder. Print a tech sheet NOW and go over it--your car must meet the safety requirements before it makes a lap of the track. ARRIVE EARLY!! You’ll need to get through registration and tech before 7:45 AM to make the morning driver’s meeting, then pace laps will be immediately after the driver’s meeting.

NOVICE DRIVERS: We're here to help! To get your car 'track ready' you need to clear out your car, check your lug nuts/bolts, fluids, and tire pressures, etc. We are happy to help as needed, but we won't be repairing anything for you, so don't bring a busted ride. We'll take you through the tech process and get you ready to go, hopefully before your driver’s meeting at 8 AM. Personally, I’d be so stoked I’d never oversleep--but, if that’s not you please, for the love of race gas, set every alarm you own and plan to get to the track by 6:00 AM when the gates open.

CONVERTIBLES WITHOUT ROLL OVER PROTECTION WILL NOT PASS TECH!!!!! A factory hard top may be considered roll over protection for vehicles 2006 or newer. A 'style bar' or other non-braced roll bar is not acceptable. You must pass the 'broom stick' test while belted in with your helmet on IF you have an aftermarket harness installed in your convertible. If you are too tall, use your 3 point factory belts (this is a safety thing... and, we'll explain the physics of it to you). We think you're head is pretty important, and we don't plan to let you use it as a skid plate. If you have questions, contact the Chief of Tech.

Helmets: Please see the SCCA Time Trials rules for a complete list of accepted helmets. We will NOT have loaner helmets at this event. Helmets will be teched with your car at the tech area (Garage 7). NOVICE: Need a helmet? Stumped on what exactly you need? Contact the Chief of Tech for help.

Here’s an outline of the day (subject to change if circumstances dictate)

Registration opens at 6:00 AM (Gate 3). Bring your state issued driver's license, and your SCCA member card (if you are a member). You will receive your driver’s packet, credentials, track info, etc at check-in.
TECH 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM (Garage Bay 7): Follow the signage for drive-through tech (Intermediate and Advanced) or Novice tech. Drive-through tech: don’t be ‘that guy’ holding up the show. Please have your car 100% track ready before you present to tech.
***THIS IS ALSO WHERE YOU PICK UP and RETURN TRANSPONDERS, EVERYONE NEEDS TO REPORT TO TECH PLEASE!
The mandatory driver's meeting will be held at 8:00 AM in front of, around, or inside garage 7. Yes, this includes you. Don't worry, it's quick... get a head start and read it here:
NOVICE DRIVERS: We understand… if you’ve never been to the track, how the heck will you know what we’re talking about in a driver’s meeting?? Fear not! During the mandatory driver’s meeting, we’ll hook you up with your coach. Then, it’s off to pace laps and school!
Advanced and Intermediate drivers should plan to take the track for pace laps immediately following the driver's meeting. We plan to have you out turning laps directly following drivers meeting.

Lodging. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is located about 30 minutes from the I-71 and SR 95 exit at Chesterville from the south or 30 minutes from US 30 and SR 314 from the north. There are hotels in this area as well as further north in Mansfield. You can also camp at the track if you'd like.

Weather. This event will run RAIN OR SHINE! Please plan accordingly (and if you've never done it, racing is the rain is better than sex!)
