DRIVE THE HIGH COUNTRY, November 14, 2026

WHAT:
An SCCA-Sanctioned Regional Tour RoadRally in Monte Carlo format with all Checkpoints listed in the route instructions and all Checkpoint times given. There will be no assigned average speeds to maintain. Creeping and/or stopping will be allowed without penalty. Just follow the directions until you find a Checkpoint and then pace yourself into the Checkpoint sign at exactly your correct time for chance at a perfect zero every time!! Lowest score wins. Event is on all public roads and all roads are paved except for a one mile stretch of smooth, graded gravel/clay used to connect two sections. Event will run rain or shine. This event is NOT a race. It is a contest of precise driving and accurate navigation.

All you need is a street licensed vehicle, 2 people (driver and navigator) and a smartphone or other GPS-enabled device to run the (free) timing and scoring app. No need for fancy timing equipment - your correct time will be shown in the app. Navigational Road Rallies are the most accessable form of motorsports. Even more, the Monte Carlo format rallies are the most accessible form of Road Rally because you don't have to go a set speed or do a lot of calculation - all your target times for all the checkpoints are given in the Route Instructions.

WHEN:
Saturday, November 14, 2026

Competitors can check-in and receive their Route Instructions starting at 8:30 a.m.

First car out at 10:01 a.m. Cars run one minute apart.

NOTE: On Thurs. Nov. 12 (2 days before the rally) there will be a Zoom orientation/entrants' meeting. Link will be provided in your registration confirmation message and email.

WHERE:
START: Dinks Deli & Bagel Bakery, 28170 Newhall Ranch Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91355. Come in, grab a coffee and something from Dink's great breakfast menu. Check-in will be outside the cafe.

FINISH: Baracoa Cuban Restaurant, 853 Auto Center Dr, Suite F, Palmdale, CA 93551

LENGTH:
The rally will cover approximately 120 miles in under 4 hours on fun-to-drive, scenic roads following legal speed limits. There will be a break about halfway through the rally.

HOW:
Visit here for some advice on how to run your first rally. Be sure to read the Glossary so you know all the terminology. It will GREATLY enhance your enjoyment of this event!!!

Each vehicle MUST have at least two participants, a driver and a navigator. Passengers are allowed, but no more than can be safely carried in the vehicle and they each must sign the event waiver.

If anyone in the car is a minor, they are required IN ADVANCE to complete the online minor waiver, and their parents/guardians are required to complete the parental consent forms. PRICE:
The entry fee is $35 per car. The driver or navigator must be an SCCA member. If neither of you is an annual member, a weekend membership can be purchased for $20 - which can be credited towards a full membership.

AWARDS:
Trophies awarded to the top finishers in each class at the finish. Results will be posted online following the event.

This rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks - your Official Time shows in the app!
